Substance abuse in South Africa has become an enormous social problem, as thousands of South Africans becomes sceptical to the misuse of alcohol and drugs due to the increase unemployment rate. But we believe, nevermind how hopeless the situation seems, there should always be hope for those who reach out for help.

 

Our main objective is to reach out to people at risk to addiction disorders, which may be the result of many factors. As a registered Non-Profitable Organisation (NPO), our specialised target focused programs offered to the public is the only of its kind within the Knysna and Plettenberg Bay Region.

ABOUT MARSHALL LAMINIE

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KADC

 

A passionate individual, driven to help people and his community. A family orientated father who seeks to support challenged youth to overcome the problem of drugs and alcohol.

 

His lifelong experience includes community development and worked for organisations such as Serinity Care Centre, an impatient treatment centre for persons with drug addiction, Outeniqua Drug Action Group (ODAG), which later became Knysna Alcohol and Drug Centre (KADC).

 

Today, he serves as the CEO of KADC, and remains positive, humble, trustworthy and integral when dealing with KADC staff, board members, stakeholders, service users and their families.

THE CHALLENGE

 

The increase rate of substance abuse of alcohol,marijuana (dagga), cocaine, tik and heroine is some of most frequent substance abuse cases we deal with in the different communities.

 

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

 

With a success rate of 90%, we have helped 67% males and 33% females for the year 2019-2020 only.

WE CANNOT DO THIS ALONE

 

KADC serve individuals, schools,communities, welfare organisations, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, South African Police Services (SAPS),  and any other institution or governmental department. Our personal belief is, together we can turn our communities into a drug free neighborhood.
